After 15 years with 4Him, a collaboration that resulted in 22 No. 1 hits and 8 Dove Awards, Mark Harris wasn’t laying the groundwork for a solo career when he released The Line Between the Two in June 2005. While he'd already done more than most people could accomplish in several lifetimes, retirement wasn’t even an option, when 4Him bid farewell in 2006. Instead, he relished the opportunity to face a new challenge of solo work. Now, speaking only for himself, he was able to communicate more personal messages straight from his own heart. And it’s those personal songs that provided the direction for Windows and Walls, Harris’ second solo project.

Ricky Skaggs

$35 - $30
Sponsored by Margaret Adkins, Blacktop Industries, Eagle Distributing, Fannin Motors,
King's Daughters Medical Center, Marathon Petroleum Company and WTCR. Ricky returns to the Paramount for his 8th performance here, this year once again as part of Kentucky Music Trail. 2008 marks Ricky’s 37th year as a professional musician, and this twelve-time Grammy Award winner continues to do his part to lead the recent roots revival in music. Known affectionately today as bluegrass music’s official ambassador, Ricky has brought the genre to greater levels of popularity in the past few years than the father of bluegrass music, the legendary Bill Monroe, could ever have imagined. With eight consecutive Grammy-nominated classics behind him, all from his own Skaggs Family Records label (Bluegrass Rules! in 1998, Ancient Tones in 1999, both Soldier of the Cross and Big Mon: The Songs of Bill Monroe in 2000, History of the Future in 2001, Live at the Charleston Music Hall in 2003, Brand New Strings in 2005, and Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder Instrumentals in 2007), bluegrass music is undoubtedly in good hands, with the masterful Skaggs at the helm. Trailblazer Sponsors are Margaret Adkins, Ashland Area Convention & Visitor's Bureau, Dr. Allen & Terri Bond, Bri-Den Company, Dr. Katherine Carias, Fannin Motors, James King, King’s Daughters Medical Center, Patrick Lambert, Ron Lester, James Mann, Mr. & Mrs. James H. King's Daughters Medical Center presents Vince Gill! Sponsored by Margaret Adkins, Blacktop Industries, Eagle Distributing, Fannin Motors, Marathon Petroleum Company and WTCR. Vince Gill has sold more than 26 million albums. He has earned 18 CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year in 1993 and 1994. He is tied with George Strait for having won the most CMA Male Vocalist Awards (five), and is currently second only to Brooks and Dunn for accumulating the most CMA Awards in history. Gill is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and has received 19 Grammy Awards to date, the most of any male Country artist. In August of 2007, the Country Music Association inducted Gill as the newest members of the coveted Country Music Hall of Fame. Gill is the third artist inducted in the "Career Achieved National Prominence Between 1975 and the Present" category, which was created in 2005. "Induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame is the highest musical honor a Country Music artist and industry veteran can attain," said Tammy Genovese, CMA Chief Operating Officer.
Besides being known for his talent as a performer, musician and songwriter, Gill is regarded as one of Country Music’s best known humanitarians, participating in hundreds of charitable events throughout his career. In 2006, The Academy of Country Music named Gill their Humanitarian of The Year. Loretta Lynn

$50 - $45 - $40 - $30 - $10
Sponsored by Margaret Adkins, Blacktop Industries, Eagle Distributing, Fannin Motors,
King's Daughters Medical Center, Marathon Petroleum Company and WTCR. For over four decades now, Loretta has fashioned a body of work as artistically and commercially successful—and as culturally significant—as any female performer you’d care to name. Her music has confronted many of the major social issues of her time, and her life story is a rags-to-riches tale familiar to pop, rock and country fans alike. The Coal Miner’s Daughter—the tag refers to a hit single, an album, a best-selling autobiography, an Oscar-winning film, and to Lynn herself—has journeyed from the poverty of the Kentucky hills to Nashville superstardom to her current status as an honest-to-goodness American icon.
